 This is the second of my Pokémon Gold & Silver arrangement series.


Like my previous arrangement, I've given it a bit of Asian flavour. Please remember though, this isn't a genuine or authentic piece of Eastern Asian music haha, it's just for the enjoyment of your ears :)

This piece took a long time to piece together, and I was almost ready to give up on it, but I'm glad I finished it as I'm very pleased with the result. I love the combination of the Asian instruments with the various accordion; it's a sound I've really enjoyed experimenting with.
I tried to retain the upbeat attitude that the original piece of music has and, again, tried to make the listener/player feel as if they are on foreign lands. Although perhaps it's a little too obvious in this arrangement!

 My second arrangement from Pokemon Red and Blue, Route 1!


The ending is supposed to reflect how a 10 year-old boy/girl would really feel about leaving his home behind, and embarking on a journey. 

I've decided to make this a little project of mine; arranging music from the Pokemon gameboy games. I'm taking the screenshots myself from an emulator (I'm filled with nostalgia as I play through it!)

I chose Bulbasaur ;) (and lost to my rival on the first fight -_-")

 Welcome to Pewter City :)


With this arrangement I wanted to begin by capturing the atmosphere of a new and unknown town. Pewter may seem foreign at first, but the Pokémon trainer will soon realise that this place is just as friendly as the last city.

As the piece continues the feeling becomes more settled and upbeat as the trainer becomes familiar with the surroundings and watches as the friendly locals go about their daily business, such as the man in his garden.

With the third part I wanted to reflect the feeling the trainer may have upon seeing his first (open!) Pokémon gym! Pewter City hosts the rock-type gym and so for this entire piece, I've tried to keep to a raw and primal sound with the instrumentation, whilst maintaining the friendly mood. The third part of the piece is the determination the trainer is feeling as he/she thinks about participating in the gym battle.

 Hi! Another arrangement from the Pokemon Red and Blue games, this time it's Professer Oak's Lab.


I've always thought that the music in his laboratory sounded like a baroque piece, so I've very quickly (and rather sketchily) created a sound from the baroque period. It's not 100% authentic, obviously, I'm not skilled enough for that!

In this arrangement I've also included the music that plays as Oak leads you to his lab. I thought it was interesting to fuse this into the Lab theme. 

Anyway, hope you enjoy this one. More to come soon :)
